Great humorous mystery that I could not put down until it was finished. Several unexpected plot twists along with the fun characters kept it very entertaining. I look forward to reading more books in the series.

Great humorous mystery that I could not put down until it was finished. Several unexpected plot twists along with the fun characters kept it very entertaining. I look forward to reading more books in the series.
Have you ever felt like you have to don your Yosemite Sam persona to protect your home from marauders? But not because you flaunt and hoard treasure. Oh no. It’s because the marauders aren’t in it for the loot alone.
The marauders get their kicks from breaking and turning everything in their path inside out. It’s like they get their jollies from turning tidy, functional, and organized needs into heaps of trash.
The cost in dollars, time, and outside help to repair and replace what these yahoos tear apart is more than Sally can manage at 87-years-old. She’s had it.
And she’s taking them on. In her own feisty, clever way. Until Sally gets served with papers. Wait! The marauders are suing Sally?
The Inspiration for this Marauder’s Story
According to 28 Eye-Opening Property Crime Statistics For 2023 | Policy Advice, property crimes (thefts and vandalism) in the United States are down. Down to only 2.2% of the population in 2018. That’s 2,199 incidents per 100,000 citizens. And the majority of crimes happen during the summer months… when desert dwellers escape summer’s oppressive heat.
Sally can attest to that.
But regardless of the frequency and depth of the thefts and vandalism that take place, it’s expensive and labor intensive to make the repairs. And heartbreaking when they’ve either stolen or destroyed a family heirloom. It’s also very scary when guns and knives are what they’ve taken.
When the bad guys remain a mystery, there is no chance for recovery. Prevention is the winning policy. And this book is the culmination of how-to make Sally’s (and your?) property too challenging to raid. And what can happen when the steps are being taken to fulfill the mission.
Enjoy the journey. And take something positive away when you’re done.
