The Story Behind the Story

When Amazon.com came out with a new way to read books, I was on-board. The method is called Vella. The books are Serials. You access the first three episodes for free, then pay a nominal fee to continue the read at your leisure. Unlike tv, you don’t have to wait for the reruns or stream.

An episode in Vella is a bite size that begins and ends… sort of.

My first Vella upload had to be The Other Sourdough Wars because I had to find a way to sort and toss my mountain of sourdough recipes. The characters built themselves, as always.

Mazy Belle and Lucius Ray are warring cousins since childhood. At one family gathering, their battle turned into an all-out challenge of who can make the tastiest, highest quality, most desired sourdough concoctions.

The judges are other family members. The referee is me. The journey is a fun and interesting one. The winning recipes are included.
